FilBrazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of raw sugar, accounting for 60% to 70% of global trade.
In 2024, sugar and energy companies shipped 38.24 million tons of the sweetener, an increase of 22.2% compared to the 31.28 million tons exported in 2023 – the highest amount to date.
The main destinations for Brazilian sugar were: Indonesia (3.46 million tons); India (3.33 million tons); China (3.02 million tons); United Arab Emirates (2.51 million tons); and Algeria (2.23 million tons).
