Brazil is no longer a secondary origin to ignore in the international wood pellet market.
Brazilian wood pellet production has been expanding, and in 2025 the country exported 449,000 tonnes of pellets, according to the Brazilian Association of Mechanically Processed Wood Industry (ABIMCI). Almost 70% of Brazilian exports went to Italy, currently the leading destination for Brazilian pellets.
Italian trade data reinforces the trend. Italy imported 348,000 tonnes of pellets from Brazil in 2025 — 11% more than in 2024. Brazil accounted for approximately 18% of Italian pellet imports, and purchases from Brazil have been increasing since 2021.
For companies planning a wood pellet import, the message is important:
Brazilian supply is becoming more relevant internationally. And that makes early supplier identification increasingly valuable.
The question is no longer simply:
“Can I import pellets from Brazil?”
It is becoming:
“Which Brazilian wood pellet suppliers should I be talking to before more buyers approach the same producers?”
Search for wood pellet exporters Brazil, Brazilian wood pellet suppliers, wood pellets bulk supplier, industrial wood pellet manufacturers or pine wood pellets export, and you will find many companies, directories and marketplaces.
But an importer needs considerably more than a company name.
Is the company actually a manufacturer?
Does it export pellets or merely sell domestically?
Is it a producer or a trading company?
Who handles international sales?
What specifications are available?
Can it supply 6mm wood pellets wholesale?
Does it offer bulk, big bags or retail bags?
What is its production and loading structure?
What evidence supports its export activity?
And if the supplier claims to offer ENplus A1 wood pellets, is the certification currently valid?
These distinctions matter.
ENplus® itself maintains separate databases for certified producers and traders and recommends checking the certificate status and unique ENplus® ID. An active producer certificate indicates that the company is authorized to sell pellets using the ENplus® trademark.
Certification claims should never simply be accepted from an email, quotation or marketplace advertisement.
Brazil has a substantial forestry and wood-processing base. According to ABIMCI, planted forests — particularly approximately 8.8 million hectares of eucalyptus and 1.9 million hectares of pine — support the country’s mechanically processed wood industry. Pellets are already among the solid-wood products exported by Brazil.
And the industry continues to organize itself around production, supply, technical requirements, certification and commercial strategy. In June 2026, ABIMCI’s Wood Pellet Committee brought companies together specifically to discuss production costs, raw-material supply, market development and commercial strategies.
For an importer, this creates an interesting situation.
The market is developing, but the Brazilian supplier landscape is still not as transparent as mature commodity markets.
That means supplier intelligence matters.
A buyer who waits until a purchase becomes urgent may have to begin the entire process from zero: searching for manufacturers, distinguishing producers from traders, finding export contacts, checking certification, requesting specifications and qualifying potential counterparties.
A buyer who maps the market earlier can begin conversations before the RFQ becomes urgent.

Brazilian Wood Pellet Suppliers Guide 2026 — Original research by Mello Commodity.
Find the right suppliers. Verify them. Contact them directly.
Different searches reveal different buying intentions.
An importer searching for ENplus A1 wood pellets supplier is probably concerned with certification and quality.
Someone searching for 6mm wood pellets wholesale is already narrowing the technical specification.
A search for wood pellets bulk supplier indicates volume.
Pine wood pellets export indicates raw-material preference.
And searches such as wood pellet FOB price Brazil or biomass pellet CIF price Europe indicate that the buyer may already be evaluating landed cost and commercial viability.
But there is one problem common to all of them:
Before comparing FOB or CIF quotations, professional buyers should identify and qualify potential suppliers.
That is precisely where sourcing intelligence becomes valuable.
A Google search can produce hundreds of results in seconds.
It cannot automatically tell you which company deserves your RFQ.
And relying solely on claims made in advertisements can be risky. ENplus® maintains a public blacklist involving misuse of its certification and trademark, including cases associated with Brazil.
For an international buyer, supplier selection therefore needs to happen before price negotiation.
At minimum, investigate:
This process can take weeks — sometimes much longer when performed from another country.
There is a faster starting point.
Mello Commodity developed the Brazilian Wood Pellet Suppliers Guide 2026, an original sourcing intelligence resource created specifically for international buyers researching the Brazilian pellet market.
This is not a scraped marketplace directory or a list of company names.
The research identifies 17 Brazilian wood pellet producers, exporters and trading/export companies and organizes information international buyers actually need to begin supplier qualification.
The Guide includes direct business contacts, official websites, telephone numbers, addresses and WhatsApp where publicly available, together with supplier intelligence, international-market evidence, ENplus® information where applicable, a professional RFQ structure and a supplier due diligence checklist.
Brazilian pellet exports have already reached hundreds of thousands of tonnes annually, and its largest international market continues to increase purchases from the country.
That does not mean Brazilian supply will disappear tomorrow.
It means something more relevant to procurement:
buyers should not wait until they urgently need tonnage to discover who the Brazilian producers and exporters are.
If your company imports biomass, distributes pellets, supplies heating markets or is considering Brazil as an alternative sourcing origin, now is the time to understand the supplier landscape, identify potential partners and begin qualification.
The companies that build direct supplier relationships earlier are in a better position to negotiate when the actual purchasing requirement arrives.
